Moussaka is a rich, delicious baked eggplant dish. There are many variations Moussaka depending on the country of origin. This particular recipe is here in the adoption of modern Greek Moussaka recipe. It contains some very classic Greek ingredients - minced lamb, eggplant, tomatoes, cinnamon and mint. Traditional Greek Moussaka recipe includes a bechamel sauce between the layers of meat and eggplant, but my version of this replaces the bechamel sauce, mozzarella cheese, which saves time but does not contain any taste.
Chef Having a modern version of a Greek Moussaka:
1. Put a large, deep frying pan over low heat. Cook one chopped clove of garlic and 1 small chopped onion tablespoons olive oil for about 4 minutes or until soft. Add 1 kg of minced lamb and cook for 5 minutes or until browned.
